When will I feel better?

So I gave birth 2 weeks ago and I had a 2nd degree tear and an episti thing (SP).

I’m still in pain but ibuprofen helps and nearly finished the antibiotics.

That’s one thing but I still feel like when I stand all my insides will fall out! I have heard it’s a common thing but DH will be back st work Monday and he helps me so much I feel like I won’t cope along for 5 mins !!

I didn't feel better for about 4 weeks but I ripped My stitches open 😫 I used to have salt water baths and dry my bits with a hairdryer so I knew they were properly dry.

Congratulations 🥰 it's fucking hard OP but worth it and won't last forever.

Took me a good couple of months to feel normal again. Is this your first baby? Are you breastfeeding? If so just stay snuggled in bed with the baby and keep everything in your bedroom. That's what I did. Then when I started to feel better I'd get up and take a shower. Maybe go downstairs and eventually venture out of the house. I remember if I stood for too long I would be in so much pain. Your body has just done something massive so allow it some time to recover. I'm pregnant with my second and I know I won't be so lucky this time around! Toddlers don't tend to enjoy duvet days ha ha!

I also had second degree and a metric ton load of bruising so a lot of pain. I’d expected about a couple of weeks maybe but realistically it was much more like 4 and longer than that to feel properly pain free and vaguely normal again. (Not that my bits will ever feel normal again....)

Talk to your midwives. Feeling like it's all going to fall out can be totally normal but can also be a sign that maybe you need a bit more support (don't panic, this could just be some extra physio sessions and exercises). And don't forget your kegels! There's a really good NHS app called squeezy that reminds you a few times a day, wish I'd done it after dc1 instead of having to do intensive physio after dc2...
