Hey everyone,

I am 40 +5 (sorry tmi ahead) my due date was the 23rd and my baby is measuring small so they sent me for a sweep on the 24th and I've had very bad pains from then, I had a very very heavy bloody show and what I thought was my waters breaking (turned it out it wasn't) on the Friday night and went to hospital and they said it was irritation from my sweep, Saturday I lost a lot of plug and today at 2pm I lost a lot more about 2 mins later I'm sure my waters have went as it was clear and I couldn't stop it but I'm reluctant to go up to the MU again after last time, last night after a big walk I was in agony and a lot of heavy pressure pain and hip pain along with a bad back ache but again I've had that from my sweep so I'm not sure, this is my first baby as you can tell lol they keep saying that it's tightenings but it's all around my hips and pubic area and back when I get them they aren't very regular but I'm getting a lot of them and they are very intense I'm scared in case I miss my opportunity for pain relief if I leave it to late.

Sorry for it being so long and not very well explained but I just don't know what to do

Thanks in advance

Can you call maternity triage and see what they say? Especially re: your waters maybe going today, they will likely want to check that even if they think you aren’t in active labour. It does sound to me like you might be though!

Hope you’re holding your baby soon Flowers

I know this is a lot of tmi but I can feel it coming out on to my pad like you would a periodHmm

I will give them a call I've it gets any worse?
Thanks

That really sounds like waters breaking. Give them a call. I know it’s irritating when they do that head-tilty “first baby? oh no dear, that can’t possibly be labour yet!” thing, but waters breaking by itself is worth letting them know about anyway.

(my “that’s just little tightenings, it is definitely not contractions, go home you won’t be having a baby any time soon” ended up with a baby arriving not long afterwards!)

That's why I am reluctant to ring lol I will ring them now and see what they say, hopefully this will be the wee man coming today and not a false alarm Smile

Can't get through to them at all, do you think they mind if I just went on up to them?Hmm

I’d go.

I'd definitely go. There is a risk of infection if your waters have broken. Good luck x
