nct classes

As a second time mum in waiting I am wondering whether there is more to be gained from nct classes than the inadeqate workshops provided by my pct. Previously I learned nothing about breathing or active birth postions and would like to learn more about it this time.

Hi, I did nct classes and would recommend them to a first timer. But I'm not sure if there is anything extra you could learn as a second timer? I think they did talk about different positions for an active labour and handed out a sheet with cartoons on showing the different positions. The classes were good for me as I made new friends. If it's specifically active birth positions you want to learn about, someone may be able to recommend a good book which may be better than attending a class? Actually, I did a few pregnancy yoga classes and they were brilliant for teaching active labour positions.

Thank you - yoga might be the way to go. Will save £200 too

can really recommend active birth yoga classes both from a social and birth positions p.o.view.

The refresher classes are good, only cost £40 and were much more realistic. First time round, we were all told to try to go without pain relief and encouraged in the direction of home births and water births. I had the same teacher for the refresher class, but it was interesting how she was much more matter of fact about epidurals to those of us who'd had them already!

I did it for the social aspect, which has been very good.
