C-section - 10 days after and still leaking a serious amount of fluid

Hello

Question for mum’s who’ve had a c section. I had one 10 days ago and feel fine in myself and the incision isn’t swollen or anything but good god is it leakin! I’m soaking through kitchen roll in a couple of hours and it just doesn’t stop, when I sleep in leaks into bed covers etc even if I put something on the incision to soak it up.

Have gone back for more antibiotics but the leakage just doesn’t stop. It’s watery, maybe slightly yellow but not exactly pus-y and doesn’t smell.

Any one else had this?

Are you letting the air get to your wound? I've had 3 cs, one got slightly infected but nothing like you describe.

I had this as my scar was open ever so slightly, like a slit. At first it wasn't infected but it did end up, the smell changed and it became red and a little pussy. Took two lots of antibiotics and around week nine it was totally heeled. I'm now 5 months pp and the scar is almost invisible. It will get better, I thought it never would!
Just keep getting it checked, I was going every week just to be on the safe side.

I'd get it checked

I agree with @Pigeoncat . I had the same issue except my wound was open in several places so I was having a lot of bleeding. I went to triage every 4-5 days to get them to look at the wound. It took nearly 6 weeks for it to stop bleeding. The wound didn't close fully until 2months . I was on a course of antibiotics just in case it got infected . I would recommend you go get it checked every so often . Good luck

Thanks all. I think I’ll get them to have a proper look at it again.

See if you can get them to do a swab. I had some leakage this time and the doctor did a swab and it showed I needed a more specialised antibiotic.
