Is this labour?

I'm 38+5. Woke up to a small gush at 2am and the need to have a poo. Contractions started at 3am approximately every 7 mins lasting on average 40 seconds. They felt like cramps in my back. By 6am they had basically stopped. I'm having random contractions now in my back (up to an hour apart) and feel like I have a small leak. Some of the contractions make me need the loo.

I have had Braxton Hicks since week 17 of my pregnancy, and these contractions feel very different.

Is this labour? Should I call the labour ward just to make them aware?

Unless your waters go or you're in real discomfort and then I'd give them a call as well.
I would also make sure bag is packed!

This is driving me insane! Waters went properly at 11am yesterday and since then I have had random contractions between 4 and 30 mins. If they don't start properly, they will induce me today 😞 looks like no water birth for me.

Just to update, I did have to be induced on Tuesday and our little baby was here after a 3 hour labour. No birth injuries and no epidural. The pain was really hard to cope with but knowing I was going to meet my baby soon kept me going.
