oooh congrats, it won't be long now eh? Saw these tips on babycentre.com for you:
To speed labour up, first try some natural techniques. Contractions may open up the cervix more quickly if you are:
? upright
? regularly changing your position
? eating and drinking according to need (if you're starving, your body cannot produce the energy required to keep contractions going).
These simple measures might be enough to kick-start your labour:
? If you're lying on the bed in the delivery room, get up! Take a walk to the toilet because a full bladder can slow your labour down
? Remember that being relaxed will make labour more enjoyable and probably easier to cope with
? If you're feeling very tense, ask your birth companion to massage your back firmly, or your feet if you're sitting in a chair. Try inhaling a drop of lavender oil on a handkerchief or listen to some soothing music
? Have a small snack if you feel like eating (perhaps some toast), and make sure you're not getting dehydrated
? Rock your hips and lean forwards during contractions to help your womb push your baby firmly down onto the cervix.
