One of my good friends moved back to the states a few years ago and has just had a baby.

I'm wanting to make up a care package of nice things just for her, treats and the like...

But I have terrible baby brain ATM and short of lanolin and chocolate hob nobs I cant think what else to put in her parcel...

Can the wonderful mn hive brain help me out?

Water bottle that opens and closes with one hand (try Nalgene). Oat based cereal bars.

Handcream. The constant handwashing after changing nappies really dried out the skin on my hands.

And nice soap and sponge (ideal for quick wash when a proper shower isn't possible).

cooling gel packs

Fancy, tasty snacks. I have gotten a few friends the book ‘the womanly art of breastfeeding’ but maybe a bit heavy to post and depends on if she wants to bf obviously.

There's a number of different teabags which are supposed to assist milk production. You might need to check though that you can send them to the US (I've watched a lot ot border control and they can be strict!)

Dried fruit. This is grim, but I got quite constipated after both births and snacking on dried fruit was so helpful, and felt marginally healthier than the chocolate I otherwise would have scoffed!

Do not forget the breast pads.

Not sure if it's been said but I loved having a thermos cup when I was BF as I love a cuppa and they are always going cold and I was also terrified of spilling hot tea on baby and thermos solved both issues.

Hi Hun. Wonderful times ahead. You will know when the time comes what you need. Breast pads are a must.

There’s a lovely book called the food of love by Kate Evans.
