Did any of you cry at any stage of labour? Just curious to know. I remember getting a bit teary in the part before transition, think I was pretty delirious. Hmm

Not during labor; the only emotion I felt was a mix between fear and rage. I did cry once my DD was born and placed in my arms.

EdWinchester · 07/09/2018 20:42

No, but my husband did. A lot.

PotteringAlong · 07/09/2018 20:43

No, but I’m notoriously hard hearted Grin

BikeRunSki · 07/09/2018 20:44

Only in pain, but I did have a uterine rupture.

3boysandabump · 07/09/2018 20:45

No didn't cry after the first two were born either but did for 3&4 must be getting softer as I get older 😂

TheSheepofWallSt · 07/09/2018 20:46

No, and I cry at everything!

I did laugh, sing, vomit, moo, roar, shout, and swear profusely though.

Moominfan · 07/09/2018 20:48

No just screamed in pain last few pushes

NotTakenUsername · 07/09/2018 20:49

Yes.

I breathed. Then I bathed. Then I ‘tens’ed. Drove to the hospital where I lost my dignity and my waters at the security intercom - actually quite a painful sensation in my experience...

I breathed. Removed the tens and took a shower. Gushed some more. Bounced on the bloody ball...

Then I cried. I broke down and I wailed like a baby. I wailed like a baby and I screamed like a banshee.

It. Was. Horrific.

(I’ve heard some people find it beautiful and magical...)

Interesting, I didn't cry after ds was born and was quite quiet during labour otherwise. A weird mixture of pain and emotion - but I am a softieBear

Ive just remembered that in the pushing stage I kept saying/ roaring “come on baby!” like a bloody sportscoach

The midwife must’ve thought I was crackers

SnuggyBuggy · 07/09/2018 20:52

I was utterly off my face and once the epidural kicked in very mellow.

TwllBach · 07/09/2018 20:52

I didn’t cry but I don’t know why. I was terrified, in agony and convinced I was dying. Thinking about it for too long makes me cry now GrinGrin —desperate to do it again—

Nogodsnomasters · 07/09/2018 20:56

Surprisingly no and I am a crier. I cry at the babies being born on one born every minute... Yet didn't cry when my ds was born lol I honestly think it was the shock as at that point in my life it was most shocking traumatic thing I'd ever encountered! I did as one pp said though moo'd, growled, shook, whimpered and moaned.

ShowOfHands · 07/09/2018 20:59

Not with my first. I was in too much pain to make noise. Don't know if that makes sense.

I did sob uncontrollably at one point with ds. It was the point at which I had to consent to the emcs and accept I'd never give birth normally. I wasn't sad so much as awareness of a door closing and feeling overwhelmed. I felt similarly overwhelmed when he was born, knowing I was greeting my last child. It was joyful but edged with that sense of my life having irrevocably shifted.

Liadan · 07/09/2018 21:00

I cried but it was more in panic... The pain was just unbearable and I just wanted it all to stop... I was almost dilated at that point and my dd was sunny side up...

Yep.

Heard someone sobbing and realised it was me. Frickin' hurt.

Pebblespony · 07/09/2018 21:03

No, no tears. I didnt really feel it was that bad. But then again, I was slightly off my face in gas and air and pethadine. It was all over too quickly for an epidural.

Pinky333777 · 07/09/2018 21:04

No. But I had the epidural and didn't feel anything by the end.
My partner cried when we were in theatre and they were helping baby out.
I can see how that experience would be overwhelming. I was high on pain relief and soothing my partner 😆

butlerswharf · 07/09/2018 21:05

Nope

Bobbiepin · 07/09/2018 21:05

No, and I cry at everything!I did laugh, sing, vomit, moo, roar, shout, and swear profusely though.

This. Exactly. First thought when they put DD on me was "holy fuck that's a baby". No crying.

C0untDucku1a · 07/09/2018 21:06

No

mostdays · 07/09/2018 21:06

Yes with ds1, transition, was full on distraught with the absolute belief I couldn't do it. Ds2's birth was lovely and ds3's was... not, but I responded to it with fury rather than anguish, so didn't cry during either of those.

Giantsquid · 07/09/2018 21:08

@DDIJ how old is baby now?

NoNoCharlieRascal · 07/09/2018 21:13

Nope, but I yelled words no baby should hear as he split me to my arse hole Blush.
