Good sources of information on VBAC

Am currently pregnant with my second baby and just got my letter through for my consultant appointment, where (I think) the plan is to discuss birth options. DS1 birth followed the well-trodden path of going over due, had induction, failed to progress, baby born by emergency c-section with a few more complications thrown in for good measure (suspected pre-eclampsia and DS heartbeat being all over the shop)

Am open to the idea of VBAC although ultimately, I just want the option that is safest for baby and me. Whilst it is still very early days for making a decision (am just nearly 5 months) I was wanting to do some ready up on VBAC before the appointment – the risks of it versus second section and best options if you go over due again and if ultimately labour fails to start naturally etc BUT struggling to find good sources of info. So much of it seems to be for American style health care or (no offense) super hippy unrealistic stuff. Anyone have any good sources of info for reading up on it?

Here are the RCOG guidelines:

www.rcog.org.uk/en/guidelines-research-services/guidelines/gtg45/

I had a successful VBAC with my second and am hoping for another with my third.

The odds of a successful vaginal birth after CS are pretty much the same as for a first time delivery - just 5% lower.

I’m not in the UK but my hospital won’t induce after a CS nor will they ordinarily allow an epidural as both increase the risk of uterine rupture. Neither are ruled out in the RCOG doc though interestingly.

Great - thank you Chloe! Will check them out. Best wishes for baby number 3.
