Nursing Bras for the 'boobily blessed' ... Help

Hi all, looking for some advice/suggestions from more experienced ladies..

Trying to find decent reccomendations for nursing bras for ladies who are larger of boob.. Specifically good, comfortable, not too expensive options for the first few weeks of BF while I wait for things to 'settle down'...I'm currently in my 3rd trimester and have already gone from a G cup pre-pregnancy to a HH...

Alot of the ones I can find online are either done in standard bra sizes which I don't want to buy until I have an idea of what size I'll be while BF, or just come in S, M, L type sizes that equate to standard UK dress sizes..has anybody got any good reccomendations for a couple of functional, comfy options I can consider?

Dreadful company name, but Hot Milk go to an H cup

the royce ones are the best of a bad bunch. I only wear them at night and wear a well fitting underwired bra that I've added nursing clips to in the daytime.

I was 32j and wore panache from bravissimo which were surprising comfortable and supportive.

I also discovered this site which went up to an N cupShock

Hotmilk, Panache and Freya all do good nursing bras. I'm presently wearing a Hotmilk in 30G, which is my favourite nursing bra, but they don't make 30G any more Angry The Freya Pure is pricey but excellent. Bravissimo has a small selection of nursing bras so you can go in-store to find out your size and then order online to get them cheaper.

You can also look at Ewa Michalak, a Polish company who make amazing bras for booby ladies, but they have their own sizing system so you have to measure yourself.

Thank you for the suggestions so far ladies.. I already have a hotmilk pj set with in built nursing bra which I got in the sale, but I bought the hidden nursing support PJ top in the largest size they had and its already a bit of a marathon wrestling myself into it now, long before my milk has come in!!

I'm looking at things like the Freya chi non-wired to keep me going for the early days before I can get to bravissimo to be measured.. But Panache and Royce are good suggestions too, as pre-bump I loved a good panache bra...

A hidden support nursing top is always going to be a lot more constricting and less supportive than a proper bra though - unless you're already an off-the-charts size (or a really small back, like me - try finding 28GGs) I wouldn't worry about finding bras.

Ollivander84 · 02/08/2018 09:43

Molke. Mega comfy, I'm not pregnant and wear them around the house

MermaidTail7 · 02/08/2018 09:59

QueenAravis.. Yes, I had noticed that about the hidden support tops. I think the main thing with Hotmilk is that I already have too large a cup size before BF for most of thier stock, so am assuming that once my boobs expand to accommodate BF that I'll be even bigger!

I'm more than happy to invest in decent, well fitted nursing bras once I know my general size range (being generally big-boobed I can be quite militant about the virtues of a well fitted bra!!!) but I'd rather find some stretchy but supportive options for the early days while things settle down a bit!

Fair point :) I'd suggest maybe buying a few unwired Panache nursing bras a few sizes up as an interim measure? Unwired nursing bras are made to accommodate size fluctuations as your boobs can be 2-3 different sizes in the same day according to how full they are when you're nursing. I have several Panache Sophies and they certainly go up into the Js.

MermaidTail7 · 02/08/2018 10:37

Thank you! An excellent suggestion!

Largest nursing bra available in the UK is the Royce Charlotte. It goes up to an L cup. But is a bit snug on the fit.

Available via bravissimo.

I'm looking at it. But as I'm already up at an L cup (seriously boobs! Did you need to grow?) And milk hasn't come in yet I'm waiting a little while. If you're struggling with cup size, apparently you can get a bigger backside and use a rixxe clip (sp).

The clip works in the opposite way to a back extender, allowing you to get a bit more cup fabric and bring the back size down to what you need.

Bibijayne · 02/08/2018 12:08

*back size... Heaven knows what autocorrect was thinking :/

I got one of these after using the Bravado silk nursing bra in a L for the first couple of weeks until size settled:

Getting an underwired one changed my life! It's brilliant. This only goes up to an H but, you may find that your boobs don't explode in size at all or for very long - mine were bigger in week 28 than they ever got again. So this one may still work for you. I wouldn't buy an underwired one in advance because of size fluctuations but definitely recommend for larger boobs after 2-3 weeks! (I went up to a G from a DD then dropped back to an F)

mumsastudent · 04/08/2018 23:22

didn't bother with nursing bra just used underwired low cut "opera" style - could push down to use - if you follow me used soft sleeping bra at night & when tender

Bowlofbabelfish · 05/08/2018 10:42

Seconding nursingbrashop - have had a few great ones from there!

SpoonfulOfJam · 05/08/2018 10:45

Anita underwired nursing bras.

Not cheap but completely changed my silhouette after DC2. 2 distinct boobs and a waistline again.

Can’t recommend enough. (Also very large cup sizes)

QuarrellingElephants · 05/08/2018 10:49

Seconding Molke - they're comfy, cater for all boob sizes, are flattering and come in brilliant colours!

Bowlofbabelfish · 05/08/2018 11:57

Do the Molke ones give good support? They look perfect for putting under wrap tops/jersey dresses for feeding...

QuarrellingElephants · 05/08/2018 22:48

Bowlofbabelfish yes, don't ask me how but they're really supportive! Perfect for wrap dresses, no clips to faff with.

AveEldon · 05/08/2018 22:52

I gave up and converted normal underwired bras to nursing bras with the little clips instead
