37 weeks today with DD2, I'm curious as to what is going to happen this time round as I was induced with DD1 due to her growth had slowed right down & my placenta wasn't functioning as it should. Everything looking good this time round though & they've said her weight was ok at my 36 week scan last week so no sign of needing to be induced at the moment.

I wish I knew how it's all going to happen this time round.

Please tell me your stories I'm intrigued!

Best of the lot for me.

I went into spontaneous labour at 40+10 (ds1 was born at 40+15 after induction). Labour started around 8am, the midwives were with me by about 9am, ds2 was born after a 4 minute second stage (compared to a second stage of over an hour with ds1) at 10.45 am. It never felt too painful to handle, I didn't get scared or overwhelmed, I delivered standing as it felt perfectly right, ds2 was breastfeeding within minutes, within days I felt like I hadn't even given birth. Waters never broke either, he was born with the caul still over his head and face, all the waters came out as his body did. Totally lovely.

DS1 - 24hr labour, 3 hrs pushing, episiotomy

DS2 - 6hr labour, 2 pushes and out

Waters went at 38+4, was called in for induction at 38+6. Went into labour while waiting to be induced, total labour time was 1 hour. Back to back so more painful but at least it was over and done with quickly!

Great stories the last few posts. I love hearing them. Thanks all.
Reeeally hope my labour is pretty straight forward I want it quick but not too quick - enough time to get hospital.

1st one... 34 weeks, 6 hours of active labour after two days of latent phase.

2nd one...39 weeks, 4 hours of active labour after a day of latent phase.

2nd one was so so so much easier - partly because I wasn't worried about her, partly because I was relaxed and at home. At one point, I had that transition loopiness, then realised I was in transition, thought it was hilarious and then laughed like a drain for ten minutes.

3rd was then super easy...few hours of latent, four hours of active and two pushes.

I'm pretty sure that this baby will just float out while I'm asleep...right?

First birth, first twinge sat night arrived Monday morning, epidural, failed vontuse, forceps, b2b and an episiotomy, just horrendous!
Second birth first twinge 11p.m 5cm at 3 am. out by 5 a.m recorded as 2hours active labour 9 min pushing stage, very fast but very intense.

When people say twinge, what does that mean? i was induced and had epidural with my first. Due any day now with no 2 and feel like I have period pains. Dull but bearable and feels more like indigestion.

Went into labour at 38 weeks. Had a show at 1:40pm ish, contractions started about 2:50pm, into hospital 3:30pm, just had gas and air and ds arrived at 4:05pm just as the midwife put on gloves, not in the delivery room, just a side room I was put in to be monitored. Was home cooking steak and chips by 11pm. Got up the following morning took ds1 and baby to school, came home and was hoovering when the midwife came to check on us (dp was washing up and sorting the washing).
However I do come from a family of fast, easier birthers.

Wow Snowy that is pretty good going!

I'm 38 weeks today, been for a long walk this morning. I want to try & get this little girl moving I've had enough of this heat & being pregnant now.
