I've just lost a jelly like lump (sorry!) but mostly clear and colourless - with some white. No blood or colour. I'm 37 + 4 (with my first) - is this a show?

Sorry for repeats of other threads - but now its happened, I'm not sure!

Thanks

yes it sounds like a show

labour could be hours or days away, so try to carry on and potter around

the show can come away in a lump all at once or over several days

Many thanks - thought I would know, but when it happened wasn't sure! Oh how exciting!

charlie999 · 27/05/2007 16:22

will do - but other than the normal painless BH's and bit of a sore back - absolutely nothing to report!! Better get myself organised......

Good luck!! Will be watching for any news.

Well further to my show on Sunday, my membranes ruptured spontaneously this evening - so much for being told they don't go whilst standing!

Just got home from hospital after monitoring etc - back for more tomorrow and induction Saturday (7.30am ) if nothing happens beforehand. got a right backache at the moment so will have to wait and see.....

thought it was wishful thinking to be two weeks early - but looks like it may actually happen!!!

www.gentlebirth.org for tips to move things along, nipple stim can be helpful, visualistion, rocking on the birth ball, no sex now your waters have gone...try standing under the shower with the spray on your back to help with the pain, and keep us posted !!

charlie999 · 01/06/2007 10:45

Thanks for that - contractions now 10 minutes apart (been going since 2am). Been told to stay at home until 5 mins apart. don't know whether I'm more scared or excited!

Hi

Sorry its been so long in updating this thread, but I didn't realise how much time a new-born takes up - can you tell I'm a first-timer

After going into labour naturally at 2am on Friday 1st June, I spent the whole day at home labouring - in the bath - on birthing ball etc. Thought I was doing really well and being very brave but when I got to hospital early evening, I was only 1cm! My notes say I was "disheartened" - well that's one way of putting it - I was very pissed off as it bloody hurt! Tried the G&A and at 1am on the 2nd was examined again and was 1-2cm . They decided to speed things up with a drip - and as I am such a baby, I asked for an epidural - the best decision I made!

At 4.30am, it was apparent the drip was causing the baby's heartbeat to drop and I had still only progressed to 2-3cm so an emergency section was performed - all very dramatic - but with the perfect outcome. I had a big top-up of the epidural and it took 8 minutes to deliver Kirst Louisa - 6lb 7oz to two very relieved and kackered parents.

She is an absolute beauty and am enjoying every minute of her.
