Forgive me for asking I have rang L&D today.... so I keep getting a little ache in my lower back and at the same time I feel my baby being pushed down. There is nooooo pain!! I rang L&D and they said if it gets more painful to ring back. But it’s not... they said it will be Braxton Hicks if it’s not painful but usually my Braxton Hicks are tightening in my tummy. I never had them in my back before. They are about 5 mins apart but not painful at all

Could be. All my labour pains were in my back. They were extremely painful though! Could also be Braxton Hicks, or just signs that labour could be imminent. Wait and see if they build up in frequency or intensity, or if you have other symptoms such as losing the mucous plug.

Should have said, my early contractions were not painful, so could be that you are in the early stages, but they should become more intense if it's proper labour.

I have been loosing my mucus plug over 6 days now and on and off feelings like this. I have no idea what is happening I always thought when I went into labour I would just ..... go into labour lol

Sounds like labour to me. If you feel the baby pushing down then I'd get checked out ASAP! Good luck!

It’s unlikely to be labour without pain but I didn’t feel any pain with contractions until after transition so there’s always the small chance

My labour started like that Stuyvesant midday, rained up overnight and DS was born at 7 am the following morning.

AJPTaylor · 19/06/2018 06:55

could be the start but honestly you will know when proper contractions start

I had this and I understand it is very normal. The baby going down feeling was him moving from back to back and getting fully engaged as things opened up slightly. I was a dedicated hypnobirther and wondered if this had helped at the start. However be prepared for the real deal as they will likely be little warning as you'll already be a bit further on. I didn't think I'd make it to the hospital! You will probably then look back on your no pain and laugh (not laugh!). Best of luck!

For me, no actual pain pain, just the niggling in the back-to-back popped up for check up- 5cm dilated!

shakeyourcaboose · 19/06/2018 07:02

And good luck!

My labour started as an ache in my back, that was after my waters broke though. Good luck and best wishes.

mummabearfoyrbabybears · 19/06/2018 07:13

Just to add that my labour with my first was completely pain free. I could feel tightening but they didn't hurt. At all!! I thought all labours were like that and most women were just being dramatic. Bit of a shock when I had babies 2, 3 and 4! Screamed like a dying thing Blush

Emz2019 · 19/06/2018 17:56

It all stopped again, Iv been shopping most of the day and had a lot of pressure and shooting pains down below... been very uncomfortable to walk around
