Optimum Foetal Positioning

Have been looking into this since it was explained to me (by a yoga teacher) last week.

Has anyone else used this/explored it? Can anyone tell me their views or experiences on it?
I'm thinking that it has to be worth a go?

beansprout, dd1 was transverse occupito posterior but delivered vaginally - an experience I had no wish to repeat with dd2!

OFP is basically a term to describe attempts that you can make to encourage your baby to settle in a good, easy birthing position - head down.

Swimming is very very good for it, also being on all fours as much as possible. I am sure yoga helps too, although I wouldn't be sure about ALL the positions being suitable.

I swam three times a week and walked up the stairs sideways (yes really...) throughout my pg with dd2. She was in a perfect position and was born very quickly and easily. HTH.

I think it's absolutely worth giving some of it a go - like anythign else with children, do anything that you find out about that sounds OK to you. My ds was in every position under the sun during pregnancy, and for a lot of it the mw said he was spine to spine. So I slept on the left, even tho some sources said it didn't work, and really tried not to sit and drive more than I had to, and when I did I tried to sit with my hips/pelvis forward, and i did a bit of all fours when I could be bothered, which wasn't much. DS was in an ideal position for the birth - I'm sure it was mostly luck of the draw but if he'd been in a rotten position and I hadn't tried any of it I might have regretted it. Who knows. Best wishes

Actually, maybe I slept on the right? Can't remember which it should be now, but I know I slept on one side, and it nearly drove me mad.

More info here . I don't think there's much point doing anything too early, especially if its not your first, as they move around.

I think its got to be worth it and will be doing it when this baby gets bigger. However I did it last time and dd was still determinedly feet first, facing the front! Although if the midwives hadn't kept telling me she was head-down LOA (the best position) I'd have worked a bit harder on it .
