Surgical stockings after C section - how long must/did you wear them for?

Was told today will have to wear surgical stockings for 5 days after section - is this right? Did anyone wear them longer/shorter? Thanks x

I was told 6 weeks!! I lasted for about 2 before they really got on my nerves and I took them off.

I wasn't given injections or told (or given) stockings!

I wore them for five days whilst in Hospital. Couldn't wait to get them off, it was so hot last July when I had DS.

LOL Twiga at the space boots....i had some kind of inflatable things around my ankles and could still "feel" them hours after the surgery when they weren't there...and I was still numb anyway...weird!

didn't have them at all and no injections either.

6 weeks! - this was last June in middle of heatwave. Hospital said 6 weeks but my GP said one week would suffice, especially as I was up and about. Those bloody stockings are the worst part of having a section
