I believe not!!

bossykate · 17/05/2007 18:14

not sure but congratulations for feeling like it at this late stage

hope someone will come along with something useful soon.

goingfor3 · 17/05/2007 18:15

No, the plug protects against infection.

oxocube · 17/05/2007 18:17

I always thought not as could lead to problems (infection?) but fair play to you for even entertaining the idea

lulumama · 17/05/2007 18:19

i think you can if your waters are intact, as the membranes and the waters are also a barrier...

sex & nipple stim are fantastic for ripening the cervix and getting contractions going

it is sexy energy that put the baby there, that same energy can help get it out

goingfor3 · 17/05/2007 18:20

'sexy energy' lol

lulumama · 17/05/2007 18:21

yes. i am paraphrasing ina may gaskin !!

iIIRC, something sexy generally happens to make a baby !

LadyTophamHatt · 17/05/2007 18:24

god...why would you want to?

yuk!

lulumama · 17/05/2007 18:28

really LTH ? sex can often be more pleasurable when pregnant due to increased blood flow to your fanjo!

LadyTophamHatt · 17/05/2007 20:32

lulu, when I was PG with ds4, dh went without for almostthe entire 9 months!!

sex during pregnany is yukkkkk IMO

TheBlonde · 17/05/2007 20:39

yes you can
just not recommended after your waters have broken

Snowi · 18/05/2007 10:03

Thanks gals. OK didn't do the deed but waters broke this morning at 7:40, but still no labour pains, when will they come??

OP posts:
lulumama · 18/05/2007 10:42

was it a full break of your waters...a big gush? or a small leak?

pains can start any time.......have you let the hospital know? you have 96 hours from waters breaking until you should be induced , according to NICE guidelines..although policy can vary from place to place...if you start to feel unwell, feverish anything like that, you must go in immediately

definitely no sex now !!

Snowi · 18/05/2007 10:49

Hi Lulumama, a big gush, & am still leaking here and there, called the hospital & they said should call them this afternoon if still no pains. Until now, still no pains...

OP posts:
lulumama · 18/05/2007 11:35

snowi...hospital might want to check you out..but you don;t have to stay in for induction today ! it is up to you and what you feel comfortable with

sit on a birth ball if you have one, to get baby nestled down in the pelvis. raspberry leaf tea or tablets, nipple stim and visualisation might help !

baby will come soon!

MKG · 18/05/2007 11:43

Snowi,

I'm super of you right now. Try to relax as much as possible and let whatever is going to happen, happen.

lulumama · 18/05/2007 12:06

won;t be long for you MKG !!!

Klaw · 18/05/2007 14:27

Snowi, get busy with those nipples but otherwise, chill out and carry on as normal with your day!

early labour mistakes

Natural induction methods obviously not the sex one!

Snowi · 18/05/2007 15:33

Had another gush of waters at 2PM but still no labour pains...

OP posts:
MKG · 18/05/2007 15:56

Am still

lulumama · 18/05/2007 21:10

hang on in there snowi!

Snowi · 26/05/2007 09:44

Hi gals, notice I've been away for awhile? that's becasue I went into labour at about 5PM on Friday (18th) the contractions came on strong & fast & Jethro was born at 4:08AM on the 19th May, weighing a massive 3.748KG (for little size 6 me) unfortunately he was a ventouse delivery, but he's absolutely fine & I'm recovering well!

lulumama · 26/05/2007 09:49

congratulations on the safe arrival of jethro x
