Induction birth plan

I’m now 40+8, still no sign of baby coming and had 2 unsuccessful sweeps. Induction is booked for Monday :( I’m pretty sad about this because I really want a home birth, I’ve got a pool and everything! I used this visual birth plan to create a birth plan but if I’m going to end up in hospital, a lot of it will be irrelevant so I’m going to do ‘Birth Plan B’. Only problem is, I had never envisaged ending up in hospital being induced, it didn’t register on my radar at all so I’ve no idea what I want or don’t want Confused

Has anyone done a birth plan for their induction? Can you give me any tips or ideas?

I know I can refuse induction, I don’t have to have it but I’m just so fed up, I want this baby out now :( and if that means I have to forgo my lovely planned home birth, then so be it.

My labour was very traumatic but I had a good birth at least. Loads of people get induced and their labour is no where near as long as mine was. The Midwife told me the pessery could work within as little as an hour, or not at all. She said they would try 3 and if no luck start the drip. Sometimes waters can break on the pessery but not enough progression so people still need the drip (lik I did). It was my first baby though. Yours might go better with it being your second. Flowers

Generally do they like you to be have the CTG monitors on constantly when being induced?

It really depends on the circumstances. I only had mine on for 1-2 hrs and just because of a heart rate issue that resolved after my waters were broken.

It's worth making one, but unfortunately mine went out the window. DD did her meconium before birth so I had to be induced very quickly, the pain of it meant I had pethidine which was fucking horrendous (felt so out of it) and she was back to back and got stuck so had forceps in the end.

By that point I just wanted her out so did whatever they advised, but it was a world away from what I'd wanted. I was stuck to the monitors so could stand up and make it to the toilet but nowhere far.

But I do know ladies who've been induced, the pessary has worked immediately and they've had a lovely birth, so it is worth making one. Sorry if this isn't at all helpful!
