High risk waterbirth

with my recent increase of high bp i have spent the last few weeks seriously considering my birth plan .
Most midwives are vague and tell me to be open about the options which in all honesty I haven’t really thought about until my ante natal class today.
I’ve found out that they have a birthing pool in one of the high risk suites.
My list of factors are
High bp controlled by labetalol that has stayed stable
Spd
Slightly high bmi
And I’m 37
After the midwife told me the pool was an option for some high risk patients I’ve been praying it could be an option for me. I feel the pool would be more comfortable for me with the spd (as I can’t really lay down or move much without severe groin pain) and I hope feeling more comfortable will help with the blood pressure. I am open to midwife advice if things take a turn for the worse.
Has anyone had a controlled bp with no other pre-eclampsia symptoms and were successful in trying the birthing pool?
I can only find threads from years ago before they had the waterproof ctg. I’m guessing I would only need a bp monitoring and a ctg in the pool?

I was consultant led for obstetric cholestatis and suffered SPD I was induced at 38 weeks but got my consultant to agree that if I was having a straight forward induction I could use the pool!

He had to write it in my notes tho! Both sets. Definitely worth asking! I had the portable monitor.

Such a great experience would definitely recommend. X

Depends how mobile you are with the SPD, you need to be able to get in and out of the pool independently

I'd be wary of what you are promised beforehand tbh. I was induced for suspected placental/growth issues and was told twice when I was being advised to be induced that there was a pool on labour ward and I could use it with wireless ctg (I needed the drip, so monitoring was continuous in labour). When I actually asked to use the pool while in labour, the midwife told me "oh, we only have one wireless ctg and it's really only for C-sections, we could borrow it for 10 minutes if you want to have a short walk..."
