Postnatal Vagina

I can only apologise for how TMI this is but I've googled extensively and can't find any answers.

Appreciate having given birth vaginally 5 or so months ago, things may not be as they were before. That said, I've not dedicated a huge amount of time to examining my vaginal opening so didn't have a great point of reference.

I had a smear at 12 weeks and it was painless etc, no issues but ever since that moment I've felt different 'down there'.

The spongy bit (feels like a strawberry kind of?) which is normally inside and that I've felt when putting a tampon in before, is now sticking out slightly and visible from the outside. I think this is the urethral sponge ... Is this normal?! It's uncomfortable but not painful.

When I look in the mirror it seems like things are ... More open? And that the vaginal opening is now wider and I can see inside where as before it wasn't like that. I can imagine that pushing a head out would have that effect so I'm less worried about that, just confused about the sponge bit being where it is and why it's only happened since the smear.

Looking for a bit of reassurance. Don't want to go to the GP given it's not painful and most likely normal after childbirth but that said, it is on my mind.

Sounds exactly like mine post child birth. Like the doors are always open and the furniture has been moved around. I do have a slight prolapse though, so might be worth getting yourself checked over.

That's the best description! I said to my DH the nurse who did the smear 'arranged things wrong' initially. I was worried about that, but thought it odd the nurse didn't comment. Think I'll get it checked out, thank you
