Is time running out for ELCS?

I'm 36 weeks and found out at a recent growth scan that baby is footling breech. I initially didn't think too much about it as I know some babies only rotate closer to labour. Plus no one has seemed concerned or even mentioned it being a problem yet. However after spending the day Googling and realising how unlikely footling breech is likely to rotate, I now feel like an ELCS would be preferred over a likely emergency one (which is my worst nightmare!)

My next appointment with the midwife is next week and I'm starting to get worried that its leaving it a bit late should I want a c-section arranging??
This is my first baby so I'm unsure what to do?

I'm having an elective in June and they are making an exception for me by letting me book a date at 32 weeks. Normally it's 36-37 here. One of my ante-natal class with ds only discovered her dd was breech at week 38. They got her in for an elective with no issues.

They can organise sections at very short notice, it’s not like you have to give three weeks warning. Won’t be done prior to 39 weeks. So if still breech next week, you’d be a scan and consultant appt very soon after the midwife appt. then they will give you a date for the section.

My C-section was organised at 38+1 for 39 weeks - it can be arranged at short notice but best to discuss it a.s.a.p I think.

Euh... C-section is the safest way of delivering breech babies. THEY should be offering one to you!
See your midwife ASAP to arrange appointment with consultant. S/he must inform you of all the risks (to you and baby) of BOTH options and let YOU decide.
(I'd pick the planned c-section Smile)
