Labour pains- and pain thresholds

I am 40 weeks +5 days and i get a pain in my lower back that feels almost as if the baby has pressed on a nerve. It lasts for a few seconds then goes away, but is inconsistant through out the day.
I keep going from one extreme to the other with my bowel movements going from several times in one day to nothing for a couple.of days.

I had a sweep on friday with a BS of 6 and have had a lot of show. Eventually the mucas went away and it turned into a brown liquid substance.

Baby is active...in am he will kick occasionally then become active in the afternoon and evening.

My stomach tightens when I get the back pain and my breath is taken away.

My worry is that i am not accepting the labour as i have a high pain threshold. I am in pain but not as much as I have been led to beleive I would be in. For some background when i broke my arm in three places it felt no worse than a sprain and I didn't go to a doctor for a week until I noticed my arm was an odd shape.
Do you think this could be anything? Or am I just worrying?

Also just to make a point of it i usually feel the baby's feet move when i get these pains so could it just be him moving making these pains?

Sounds like braxton hicks. Sounds like you're getting close!

I have a high pain threshold, but you will know when the real contractions start. Just make sure you time them.

How regular are they?

At the moment its every 20 or so mins.

Well, that sounds pretty regular. What is supposed to happen (I say supposed because mine was not text book!) is they're now supposed to get stronger and closer together.

Keep timing. But I'd think this could be it!!

Wishing you tonnes of luck x
