Walk! Do not lay down, if you have to rest then sit upright and lean forward onto cushions or kneel and lean over the back of the sofa. Laying down could encourage baby to stop pushing on your cervix and stop the dilation.

Don't forget to eat and drink.

I went to Sainsbury's in the same situation and did the big Xmas shop. That worked!

Walk, walk, walk and walk some more. One foot on the pavement, one foot on the road helped me as did climbing stairs crab like.

Think it was five hours between waters breaking and labour starting.

How are you getting on?

Labour didn't come on its own Sad I'm in hospital and I've had my first tablet! I'm hoping and praying that it starts labour off enough to where I don't need the " dreaded drip"

For what it's worth, I had the same thing but refused induction for a while. For me risk of infection seemed low. I went into labour naturally a few hours later but labour took a long time and eventually was augmented with the drip. It was painful but I managed. You'll be fine. Good luck.

Keep walking and bouncing on the ball as much as you are able to. Good luck!

I was induced last Monday and ended up needing the drip. I made them give me an epidural before the drip went in and honestly it was fine. I had a ‘walking epidural’ so could still move my legs and feel pressure. I didn’t want to have the drip but it meant it got to see my little boy quicker so it was worth it in the end. Good luck x

I had to have the drip as my contractions were irregular. It really want that bad.
