I’m 30wks pregnant and this baby has been nothing but a pain in the bum! Both 12wk and 20wk scans had to be repeated because he was in awkward positions, and they still couldn’t do all the checks they needed to at the repeats because he was lying in the wrong position. He was super quiet all weekend so yesterday I phoned the assessment centre and was monitored for 2hrs, he was absolutely fine but my placenta seems to be cushioning most of his movements which is why I hadn’t felt anything all weekend.
They sent me for a growth scan today and guess what? He was lying breech AND back to back so they couldn’t get a good enough doppler on the cord, so the scan has to be repeated next week. I’m not holding out much hope for them to be able to get what they need...
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if I end up needing a C-section because he’s breech, he seems to spend a lot of time dancing on my bladder
The thing is, I was really hoping for a home birth this time round. My DH did not cope well at all being in the hospital at DDs birth, the delivery room was tiny, hotter than hell and he nearly passed out. I know labour and birth is not about him and how he feels, but I need him to be alert and not conked out on the floor
plus a home birth would be so much easier all round, especially if I go into labour at night, there’s no need to wake DD or anyone else for childcare.
Has anyone else had a super awkward baby and was lucky enough to have a home birth?
