I have found many threads which talk about using acupuncture to induce labour but I am interested to know if anyone has experienced acupuncture as pain relief during labour.

I used acupressure points in my labour and they were amazingly effective.

I found this site www.childbirthsolutions.com (you want Birth under Articles and then Acupressure - sorry, don't know how to insert a link )and printed off the acupressure stuff in a "well, it might work" type way.

I had my DH pressing on the points round my hips and bum like his life depended on it! While he was pressing on them the contractions were a dull sensation. Without him pressing they were quite painful. I had no pain relief (not in the original birth plan!) and I'm convinced it was the acupressure that made the difference.

The points you need move around as the baby moves lower but I just knew instinctively where I wanted DH to press. Hope this helps and good luck.

yes or rather acupressure don't think acupuncture would be possible or recommended!

My mw used it on me and it really helped with the pain of contracts.really recommend it.
