Natural birth after c-section

Hi all, I'm due to relocate from Paris to Anglesey next month. By then I will be 33weeks pregnant with baby number 2. My daughter was born in November 2015 by emergency c section. Up until now all my care has been in Paris and it is planned that I have a natural birth all going well. Will the attitude in the UK be the same or will I be pushed towards a c-section as i had one a couple of years ago?
The complication was being diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 35 weeks. It was all diet controlled and fine. The ob-gyn decided to induce me...36 hours later induced with drip, then they broke my waters, then after 50odd hours they decided emergency c section in case I didn't have the energy to push if the baby did happen to be big! Anyway she was fine and 7lb3oz. I healed fine and there is no trace of the scar on my scans.
I'm going for my GD test next week so we'll soon see if it will be a problem again.

Thanks for reading!

Also...I posted on the Anglesey section but got no replies so...what do I do when I arrive there at 33weeks? Just go to a GP and take it from there?

Hi sorry no experience on the relocation side but my husband is a GP and he said to be honest best to call doctors and ask for the midwifery teams number and go straight to them so they can get you all booked in and sorted otherwise you could be waiting weeks to even see a GP that will do the same thing!

I am currently 32 weeks with my second and had my first DD around same time as you and had Emergency section so have been under consultant lead care this time. I can honestly say they had no intention of pushing for a section and were very positive in leaning towards a VBAC (natural) birth. So I imagine if that's what you have planned and there are no other complications and what you want I am sure they will support you in this (obviously it depends on the GD's test results and other general health bits) so hopefully you will still get a birth you wish!

Good luck! Hope it goes well!

I had a vbac after emergency c section
My consultant was supportive also in my decision. They take into consideration any risks like being quite over weight as your more likely to tear the old wound.
All went well with my vbac had a nice labour and delivery. Good luck ladies

Thanks for taking the time to reply! Will
I automatically be consultant led because I've previously had an emergency c-section or is it only if there are other complications?

Hi, thanks for replying...somwent for my GD test this morning and I have it again :-( gutted. My fasting level
Was over by 0,01so it was 0,93 instead of 0,92! The rest of the readings were ok.
I've been looking up doctors surgeries in the Anglesey area but you can't register until you arrive.
Would it be worth phoning Bangor hospital as that will be my nearest hospital?
What a time to move countries!!!

Right so I'm under ysbyty gwynedd which is the hospital you will be under. With a previous c section you will have a meeting with the consultant to discuss options. You will also have a community midwife who will be based out of your gp surgery. You could ring the hospital and ask to be put through to the midwife team who will 've able to at least give advice I imagine. I had an emergency section at ysbyty gwynedd 3 years ago after a failed induction and baby distress. If you have any questions let me know.

Thanks! I'm just in a panic as I'll arrive at 33 weeks so late on and not know what to do or how long I'd have to wait for an appointment etc. Here you register at a hospital as soon as you know you are pregnant and are guided from there. I really hoped we'd be moving after the new arrival.

The community midwives tend to be good in my experience, I had to miss 2 appointments cause I was too ill to get to the surgery and they came to me at the weekend as they work 7 days a week. If you know which GP surgery will be closest to where you are moving it would be worth speaking to the midwife team as they may be able to put you in touch with the community midwife assigned to that area. I can imagine it is very stressful and I hope it all goes smoothly.
