Vac after2c - possible? Success stories?

Hi all, I have had 2 emergency c sections - 1st after a failed induction and 2nd because of a last minute breech. I threw up with fear before the first and cried all the way to surgery with 2nd. I HATED my second, couldn't stop shaking and had a spot on me that wasn't fully anesthetized so it hurt and seemed to take forever for them to close up. I cannot bear the idea of another and worry I will have a panic attack or something stupid. Has anyone had a successful VBaC? Can I fight for one? Am I stupid to consider it? I am only 6 weeks so very early days but it is preying on my mind... please, looking for advice and stories, no nasty comments x

I have! DC1 was undetected breech and DC2 was 'failure to progress'. Both EMCS.

Had to fight for VBA2C for both DC3 and DC4 (but had the NICE guidelines and a ton of research literature to back me up each time). Both DC3 and 4 were successful VBACs Grin but I had supportive midwives when I was in labour which made a difference I think.

Happy to answer any qs

Oh wow Donnie two! So it is possible. And I guess you would recommend fighting for it? I have started a bit of research and see risks are no higher with a VBA2C than a regular VBAC.

Yeah, the literature says that vba2c is not more risky than vbac but my experience was that not all the consultants either knew it or they had read it but didn't want to acknowledge it! My main consultant asked me to get a second opinion from one of his colleagues and she backed me up. However, they were not happy with me going overdue and wanted to have me booked on for a section if I hadn't gone into labour by my due date. My family have a history of being late and I also knew the dates for DC3 didn't fit my cycle so I refused to have a section at 40 weeks for DC 3 and 38 weeks for DC 4.

I think my consultant was glad to be rid of me Grin. Well worth it from my perspective and I think it was good for the hospital to see it was possible too as I saw an article in the paper a year or so after DC4 about how they were really supporting vbac2c now.

How were your natural labours/ births? I am scared either way - terrified of the section and scared to try another VBAC, have it fail and end up with an EMC or something going wrong...
