How long did your c-section take?

I just saw an article about c-sections and it said from start to baby being born would be 5-10 minutes. Is that normal? Mine took 45-50 and I was in the operating room for over 2 hours. I know he got stuck so it took them a bit longer as they has to use forceps but surely 5-10 minutes can't be the norm. Can it?

I've seen 90 seconds from first cut to baby out in a dire emergency. It can be much faster than 5-10 mins but if no rush then it's better to take the time.

5 mins from knife to skin to delivery is standard.

6 minutes for me. They wrote the times up on a whiteboard as they went. Stitching and organ checking took about 45 minutes afterwards. If the baby is in a good position it can be really quick

Over an hour.
11 attempts at the spinal.

I was in theatre for roughly an hour. I was 41 weeks, had to be rushed to hospital as I started randomly bleeding one evening. They told me that night I went in that I had placenta previa which was not picked up on earlier scans. I had an emergency C section My original plan was a homebirth which I was told I was good for...
I remember a nurse telling me that someone must of been watching over me that night as it could of been fatal if I tried to have my son at home x

I was in theatre at 10pm, DT1 born at 10.03 and DT2 10.07. It was EMCS and they needed to get them out. I was in there for about another 45 minutes though.

It depends on the type of section. If the baby is still up in the uterus and hasn’t really entered the pelvis at all, then from incision to delivery usually about ten mins, longer to put back together after.
The further attempts to deliver vaginally have gone, the more complicated it gets as the baby is a lot further into the pelvis and can take quite a bit of very careful manouvering to get then back up so they can be delivered through the section incision. Often takes some complex turning, they can be quite well stuck, and can have to use forceps internally to get them back up. Have to be very careful as this is meant to be a one way system and some potential for some nasty injuries to mum if not done very carefully. Hence can take a while.

8 minutes from first incision to baby coming out! Took about 45 minutes to stitch me back up after but definitely preferable to my previous 45 hour labour!

The whole thing from entering the room to being wheeled out took about an hour.

I was in theatre for over three hours, went in at 8, came out after 11,due to heamorhagging. My daughter was born in about five mins from first cut. They cut, took her out. The time consuming bit came after,,,
