Axa PPP NHS inpatient cover for premature baby

I have corporate AXA PPP cover from work (leading UK mobile network operator). My wife and i recently gave birth to our son at 24+1 gentation who weighed 13oz in weight. Probably the smallest boy to have survived in the UK ever. With the skill of the UK NICU NHS team and the full support of my work we are a few weeks away from home. I contacted AXA PPP as they offer a cash sum for NHS inpatient stays per night of £100. I was advised by a rude agent at AXA PPP that we are not covered as the stay was not pre planned and agreed with them. The service we recieved by AXA was disgraceful. Anyone looking for family insurance please avoid AXA PPP with a barge pole.

Picu isn't a service that Axa could cover themselves so that is why they won't pay out.

So it seems. So healthcare for family cover in this instant with AXA PPP is pointless. After 73 days and counting with a baby in NICU and the pain and cost to the families should not be with a company like AXA PPP. Businesses looking to support their staff and families maybe worth looking at other organisations. I would like to say how amazing all the skilled amazing NHS teams have been. I will be taking the cash benefit from now on and donating that to the charity in question.
