2nd birth after episiotomy and tear

I am excited to experience child birth for the second time now I know how to really embrace it and allow it to be a beautiful experience. Despite this I had numerous very bad tears in my first birth and an episiotomy also, how does this affect a 2nd birth? The midwife seems to think I'll be fine now I've done it once but it was only 2 years ago and my tears are surprisingly still sensitive and prone to slightly reoccurring after sex (sorry tmi)

I did my have an episiotomy, but I had a 3c tear, a smaller tear and extensive labial tearing with DC1. When I fell pregnant with DC2 I was still experiencing a lot of discomfort and sex/ post sex was quite painful along the scar lines. A midwife told em that sometimes the natural stretching of giving birth can help these pains and make it all a lot better. I was cynical, but wanted another vaginal birth. Despite DC2 being back-to-back and in superman position, I only acquired a second degree tear, and, as the midwife had said, everything has been much better since.

I hope you have a similar experience.

I had deep tears and an episiotomy, but thanks to careful stitching it healed well. My second birth was similar but faster - epidural and ventouse - and they did take half an hour discussing how best to do stitches and another half hour to do them, but again very rapid recovery.

I had an episiotomy and forceps delivery with my first. I was so uncomfortable for years after and could always feel it during sex. When my second baby was born 2 1/2 years later I had a wonderful birth, using just gas and air.
Everything after that felt so much better during sex.

I had an episiotomy the first time as DD was back to back. DS born 2 years later, text book birth. No tears or intervention needed and just had gas and air. I did have ds in the water though, so perhaps the heat helped prevent tearing? I've no idea if that's true, but maybe ask your midwife about a water birth if you're worried about tearing. It really helped with the pain too and the labour was shorter than the first time.
