Hi ladies, well I'm being induced tomorrow. One thing I wanted to avoid after a long induction and birth with my ds. Any positive experiences 2nd time round. I am sat here here thinking everything xx

I was terrified after my first induction too. It didn't take for a few days and the birth was hard.

But the second induction was absolutely great! Once you've already done it before, your body responds a lot quicker :)

Sorry I am not sure if that was clear - I mean my first baby was induced and it was really hard, the second baby I expected the same but it was much easier and quicker.

Thank you going to bed a bag of nerves tonight. I think I'm more concerned that I didn't take to any of the pain relief last time and felt horrendous throughout. I felt better after the epidural and kind of feel that's my only option now or completely drug free (don't think so lol). Was your 2nd one any quicker xx

Yes absolutely, the induction itself worked much more quickly - apparently this is common in second/subsequent labours simply because the body has done it before. It was a few hours rather than the three days it took with DD!

The labour itself was quicker too, he was born quite quickly. Too quickly for an epidural in fact although I still begged for one! :o

I am most likely being induced this time too (8 years after DS) and I am not sure whether to ask upfront for an epidural or not!

I've been induced twice, first one took 3 days, second took 3 days aswell.

First time round I had both pessaries and needed to drip, long labour then two hours pushing.

Second one, the second pessary worked and kickstarted me into full blown labour within about an hour. Labour was very quick and pushing was also very quick. More painful though....

Needed the drip*

Thanks ladies. Fortunately the Dr has requested an early epi should i need one as even gas and air made me violently sick last time. We had a 10 day stay last time due to both myself and ds having sepsis following the long labour. I just want as smooth as is possible this time round I suppose xx
