Second induction anyone?

So I've been diagnosed with obstetric cholestasis again and Dd2 growth has dropped so looking likely will be induced. First induction with DD1 was successful eventually after drip and having waters broken. Has anyone had two inductions? And how did the second compare to the first?

I've had 3. First one took a while, a bit like yours. Second time they were able to break my waters straight away, baby was born 20 minutes later! Husband still in the car park putting change in the meter.
3rd time again they broke my waters straight away but he took about 4 hours to arrive.
Induction is not ideal but it's not always a horror story either

Yep, had 2 inductions. Second one was pessary only, and then a water birth once things had got going and they realised I was 8cm dilated

Almost identical in terms of intervention and progression. (Both quick labours with drip.) I felt a bit more in control of things the second time knowing what to expect.

How many weeks were you all when induced? Looks likely I will only be 37 weeks and Dd2 could still be tiny if she doesn't pick up

40 and 42 respectively for me, so not tiddlers. How long do you have to go to 37 weeks? Was your DD1 at a similar gestation?

DD1 was 38 weeks when induced as the cholestasis wasn't picked up til then. This one is currently 10th percentile and Im 32 weeks

Thought this was about getting a second induction job. Oppps.

Good luck. We thought we escaped disaster on our first induction as baby was breach and doctor made midwives check just before administering the drugs.

Glad to hear positive tales. Good luck OP. Two is more than twice the handful of one. We have three kids now.

hob not job. Doh.

Ouch, that's going to feel like a long wait isn't it. Hope it all goes smoothly and best internet vibes - get growing little one!

Thank you cat. Was a bit of a shock as she was 50th at last check a few weeks ago and now she is 10th. I'm just worried the induction won't go well as with it being early as opposed to being 40 weeks or overdue. But then maybe the fact the first one worked is a good sign. They did put pressure on me with a time limit the first time. Think they would have sent me for a cs as there was a break in the induction process due to them being busy but I made it clear I wasn't happy so they gave me the drip and ramped it up quite quickly

I've had 2 - both at 38 weeks due to high pressure in the umbilical cord.

First one I had a 24 hour pessary. Labour started within about 5 hours of the induction started. DD1 was born by ventouse about 12 hours after the start.

Second one I had a 6 hour pessary. Lots of pains from about 2 hours in, but no established labour. I only made it to 2cm 9 hours in. Was so disappointed! DD was born by crash EMCS shortly after that as she was severely distressed.

So my first induction was much more straightforward and fast acting.
