Hello all,
I am currently 38w with my 1st baby and have now virtually lost control of my bladder. I happened virtually overnight to the extend I thought my waters had broken (que embarrassment at the hospital). I have now learnt it is because my DD to be's head is sitting tight on my bladder, so if she moves I wee!
I have swallowed my pride and purchased copious amounts of Tena but am hoping someone can tell me they have suffered similar and as it was the baby's head and not lack of pelvic floor that it cleared up soon after the birth.
Just to clarify it is not stress incontinence but a complete lack of control most of the time - believe it or not I can still hold it if I sneeze /cough!
So far this has been the worst thing about pregnancy for me and I am struggling to cope with it- hence my need to know if anyone has experienced similar and will it sort itself once baby is out.
Thank you

Should do, as the pressure will have gone, but it may take a while due to obvious stresses on the muscles needed to regain control. Get going on the pelvic floor muscle exercises if you haven't already (nhs "squeezy" app is fab) and if it doesn't resolve, dont put up with it, bit make sure you get referred to the women's health physio unit near you. Good luck with it all

Mine did xx

Mine didn't, but I think that was more my labour. I've had 12 months of physio and it's now better . Don't suffer in silence if it hasn't improved after 6 weeks.

Depends if your pelvic floor is a bit knackered or if it's just baby pressing.

Either is sortable but if it's the first may take some commitment to pelvic floor exercises. If still having problems postnatally tell someone asap and ask to see women's physio at the hospital as they will be able to help ensure you're doing pelvic floor exercises properly.

I get this every morning the second i wake up. No matter how hard I try I can't get up fast enough. It's bloody embarrassing, good job dh doesn't care. Good to know it will be gone once baby comes Grin

Mine didn't recover but it was my second pregnancy and he was 8.7lbs! I'm also really crap at pelvic floor exercises, so BLOODY DO THEM NOW, every day, after the birth as well. I'm looking for a physiotherapist at the moment.
