TUMMY TUCK AT SAME TIME AS C-SECTION?

Sorry, this is a totally hypothetical question as I am (unortunately) not pregnant. DH and I were discussing the idea of trying for no. 3, and we came to the conclusion that my tummy is already sooo flabby after two, it would hang to my knees after another pregnancy.

So dh said I should have a tummy tuck at the same time as a c-section.

Right. That can't be done can it??
I mean... we are not even seriously contemplating no. 3, but even if we were, no hospital would offer that, or would they???

Both my wishes would come true - a third baby, and a slightly less flabby tum.
(it will never be flat, have always been ahem bigger...)

maybe if you paid for it
not on the nhs

The thing is though, you would more than likely be carrying excess weight from the pregnancy so if they did the tummy tuck and you then lost the weight wouldnt it be saggy again?

I wish!! Very much doubt they would on the NHS.

I believe this procedure is known as a "Mend it like Beckham."

I think one of my cousins did that, but I'm not sure. It was a private hospital and she is in friends terms with many consultants so... it might have been a personal favour.

I jokingly asked for that when I was being prepared for an emergency c-section. The response I got was 'What do you think this is, Hollywood?!'
I thought it was worth asking for just in case!

They will not generally do a full tummy tuck during a c.s.. You would need to get a plastic surgeon into theatre, and your obsteatrician might well not want an extra body in there when there's enough going on as it is.

ENTP is right, though, they are pretty aware that most women want a neat scar and will do what they can to improve an existing one, by going in through the same scar and removing scar tissue or a bit of excess skin.

Really, though, the best thing you can do is to massage your scar for up to 15 minutes each day from when your stitch comes out - this breaks down the scar tissue and really improves how it looks. It's a shame that hospitals tell women about this so rarely.

Thats how I feel asking it on here...

No, it is really just a hypothetical question. IF and it is a HUUUUUUUGGGGEEEE if,we went for no. 3 then I would try to have a vaginal delivery like my other two, and I don't think I could cope with a tummy tuck and all the pain from that op with a new baby. (doubt I could cope with c-section pain either...)

It was really just one of those stupid questions btw dh and I to which I had no definative answer, although I suspected it would be a no.

Thanks for humouring me though!!
