ELEC Cesarean at Queens Hospital Romford at 38 weeks

I am currently 35 weeks and 4 days and I am due my second on 17th September.

I have had a terrible time at Queens Hospital with the care I have received from them. I am not making this up as even one lady yesterday commented on how rude the nurse was to me.

To cut the long story short I am having a ELEC Cesarean due to various medical issues.

I saw the consultant yesterday who wasn't very nice and she has eventually booked me in for my date even though they were insistent that they couldnt book me in before 36 weeks! I was told by the nurse that they had no availablity until 16th September ( cue my anxiety suddenly going into overdrive!) I am a high risk pregnancy and can not risk going into natural labor!

Anyways she eventually found a slot for 12th September and said if a slot becomes available on 11th September which would mean i would be 39 weeks +1 day she would let me know.

I have looked into transferring hospital as i had my first daughter at Royal London and the experience was totally different.

What I want to know is how successful other mothers to be have been with Queens Hospital in getting a consultant to book you in at 38 weeks onward and not 39 weeks. I cannot risk natural labor and since yesterday i can not stop going into a bling panic about all of this.

please no nasty comments my anxiety cant take it

I'm sorry you're so anxious and they should not have been rude to you, but they are following guidelines in booking your elcs at 39 weeks. This is because likelihood of breathing difficulties for baby are increased if delivery by cs is before 39 weeks. There is a small chance you will go into labour before this yes, but if that were to happen they would still perform your cs straight away if necessary. Is there any other medical need for baby to be delivered at 38 weeks? I understand they would only do so if they were concerned about the safety of continuing pregnancy any longer, so my guess is that Queens hospital will say the same thing.
The NICE guidelines are:

1.4.1 Timing of planned CS

1.4.1.1The risk of respiratory morbidity is increased in babies born by CS before labour, but this risk decreases significantly after 39weeks. Therefore planned CS should not routinely be carried out before 39weeks.[2004]

I had my daughter at 38 weeks and 6 days with no issue. Due to the fact they cant risk me going into natural labor because of various medical reasons etc.

They will do a C Section at 38 weeks onwards as a lady next to me was actually being booked in at 38 weeks and 5 days.

My issue is that no one seems to read my notes or my medical history which really worries me as they keep palming me off and it worries me that they arent taking me seriously in the slightest. Twice had to correct the consultant on my medical history and when she filled out my ELEC form she even ticked High Risk pregnancy so its not like im making it up :(
