Just wondered if anyone has delivered at the main unit.If so what were your experiences.

have met the head of midwifery and one of the consultants there. the mary rose midwife-led unit seemed v nice (and calm!) and is a floor away from the consultants if you need any help during labour.

Definitely a postive experience here.

I had a c-section at the main unit (no dilating after 17 hours, they said I could carry on but was getting knackered so I chose the c-section) and the care was excellent, nurse who sat with me for hours was lovely, matron on the ward afterwards fab, I was in for 2 days (could have stayed longer but felt fine to go) and had no problems whatsoever.

As bundle says, if you book into the Mary Rose and you need intervention, they just stick you in the lift and send you upstairs, no ambulance transfer required.

I had ds1 in the hospital & ds2 in Mary Rose. No probs either time, they were great.

The Mary Rose is nicer though, and if there are any probs you're only a few yards away from the lifts to take you upstairs.

I had all 3 of mine there. They are v busy so not great on after care - they seemed rather rushed on that front, but I didn't stay long.

The actual deliveries were very good. I felt well looked after. I had twins too and no-one mentioned c-sections or suggested I should have one un-necessarily.

Never went to the Mary Rose, but I have heard it's very nice. Wasn't offered it as an option tbh. Maybe I should've asked.
