Third child, 39 weeks and braxton hicks driving me mad!

I have been having strong braxton hicks since week 36. This morning, however, things were more pronounced. For 2 hours I thought maybe this is it, only for the contractions to disappear as quickly as they had come.

I don't remember feeling any braxton hicks first couple of times.

I know this is fairly normal but it is infuriating!

it is normal and it is infuriating

when it happens, either go with it, and try to ignore ! have a walk, or a bath if you can

also, all the BH are good for toning the uterus, wiggling the baby into a good position and for getting things ready for labour x

thanks. I will try a long walk tomorrow and a hot walk. Not sure how much raspberry leaf tea I can face!

the RLT tones the uterus and can make BH stronger, don;t drink it if you are finding the contractions hard to deal with !

My third delivery followed what I was subsequently told was a typical No.3 pattern :- loads of niggles and false starts, then 24 hours of "period pain" bad enough to keep me from getting decent rest, finally got going but seemed to stay at around 4cm for hours, then the tempo picked up and my son was born a couple of hours later, on his due date! Best of luck!
