Remedies and tips to avoid a third induction

And yes I know not castor oil.

Basically I am anxious to avoid if at all possible a third induction at 38 weeks.
I am almost 22 so a little while to go, but with two young children I know the next few weeks will fly by.

Please could you share some tips and remedies? I'm clueless.
When should I start raspberry leaf, what's the big deal about clary sage and evening primrose and should I be bulk buying pineapples and vindaloo.

I'm never able to even face sex in the last four weeks or so as in so much pain so unless I have a change of heart that's out the window.

Any anecdotes or recommendations would be appreciated!

My midwife said eat at least 6 dates a day from 36 weeks onwards. She told all her ladies to do this and only one since Jan had gone over 41 weeks. I went into labour at 38 weeks Smile

God really?!

I love dates. Thanks for the tip!

I walked my butt off for about 4 weeks before my son was born at 39 weeks. Literally walking 4 miles a day sometimes which wasn't easy when you have a 9 lb plus baby in you and polyhydramnios! I definitely think walking made him come early, I didn't try anything else x

Sorry but they are all myths. Baby comes when they come . My second was an induction because waters broke without labour and still he didn't want to come naturally. I never want an induction ever again. Horrible. I tried it all except castor. walking, primrose oil, sex, and nothing did it

Coincidentally both were two weeks late

Sweeps, ok this is going back 6 years ago. I read that you can have a sweep every 48 hours after due date.

They tryed to put me off, midwife saying she didn't have time to come and do one. So I always offered to go to her and get one one. Grin

I was induced on my first, it was hell I was determined to try and avoid another one. Had 3 sweeps in the end, ended up going into labour the night before my booked induction.

Lots of luck

The dates one has a (small) study to back it up so definately worth a shot but I still went over 42 weeks!
NICE says you should be offered induction OR monitoring.

Reflexology. It was either that or sex that got my labour started at 37+6.

Thanks everyone
I had four failed sweeps with my last two. I will be induced at 38-9 weeks ( for various reasons: age, previous big baby at 39 weeks, threatened prolapse 🙈) and although my labours have been mercifully quick -and I've not been in need of any assistance or intervention - I have a shocking time of it on the drip. Really ill. I am frightened about going through it again. Bit silly really.

Will just have to resort to everything except castor oil and see how I get on.
