I am due to have one tomorrow, thought nothing of it really until now, slightly worried as i have heard they can be sore and leave you feeling worse for wear. Who has had them? How was it? and, how effective was it? thanks ladies!

Went well overdue with both of mine so have had 2 of these. With DS it was uncomfortable but that was all, and it did nothing. Had to be induced a week later.

With DD it was quite painful, and made me feel very emotional which I didn't expect. DD was born about 12 hours after the sweep after a 6 hour labour.

having contractions 6-8 mins lasting approx 45 secs.... more than slightly uncomfortable but still bearable! Might have a baby today!

hey, am still here, things are going well i think, reg contractions, about every 6-7 mins, just started to last about 50 seconds now. Had a sweep yesterday lunch time, and am now 8 days overdue, i think this is it now! Not sure when to call the hospital, i might just call them to let them know...!

oo you lucky thing! good luck. yes call them i would say. mine said to go in when contractions were between 5 and 10 mins. is this your first?

Jaysecond · 17/03/2007 05:34

no its my second, so i know it can speed up quite quickly. Hva just spoke to them and they said to have some breakfast and get my self ready then to get to the hospital. Not to leave it oo long either! I was 2-3 cms yesterday so things i guess can happen quickly!
