Anyone go into labour without showing previous symptoms

Im 39+1 and am not yet having any 'symptoms' or tell tale signs that labour might be anywhere near. I dont feel like im due a baby anytime soon either. Dreading the idea of going too far over and having to be induced. Guess I just wanted to see if anyone went into labour around due date even tho they didnt feel any changes.

I saw the consultant at 5.30 in the afternoon, 37w +2 had an examination she said this baby won't be here for awhile. Well 9.15pm that night my waters broke and I started having really strong contractions less than three minutes apart, I went back to the hospital and DD arrived not long after.

Me too, day before due date, I was on the phone to a random call centre and then had an unbelievable urge to go to the loo. Biggest poo of my life, I said to DH that something was happening and then BAM straight into full labour. 16 hours later I had a baby!

i had my (first) baby at 39+1 and 12 hours before he came out on 39w i was out for a thai, complaining about having to wait any longer

Woke up at 41 weeks feeling a bit uncomfortable (9am), full blown contractions by 11.30, baby here before 2pm. It was DC1. Good luck!!

I woke up one morning 36+4 weeks (very estimated) in labour. Looking back I felt a bit crappy the day before but just assumed it was tiredness. Also had urgency to sort out all of baby's stuff night before. But no typical, physical signs of labour.

Very easy labour too. Woke up at 6am went into MAU at 8 and by the time I was examined at 9:30 was 8cm so my body obviously did a lot whilst I was sleeping

OP, side note for you. The due date is an approximation. In France 41 weeks is a standard for example. Here they won't let you go beyond 42 weeks. The reason for that is that placenta could start disintegrating past 42 weeks. This however is not always the case. What is not widely known is that you can refuse induction and request an extra scan to assess condition of your placenta. If it's fine, you can go beyond 42 weeks and let baby decide to arrive when she/he wants to arrive. This ha certainly the case in my hospital especially if you have a supportive (and assertive midwife). Although I was on time, my close friend was not and she simply refused the induction without placenta assessment first. So if you do not want to be induced, look at your options with your hospital. If your placenta is in good condition and baby is safe, you could wait for non-inducted labour.

Ps. Forgot to finish off by saying that my friend gave birth at 42+4 at home without induction to a healthy baby after her placenta scan at 42 which showed it was in perfect working order.

I had no signs if labour at all, was woken in the middle of the night by waters going pop, this is with both of them, bother earlier than due date. First one was born after 5.5 hours and the second after 1 hour 10 mins. Got 3rd on the way next month so hoping for another quickie! x
