Heard this at the weekend - apparently had applied to all 8 women in a friend's antenatal class.

Confirm or deny, anyone?

I'd say mine was totally different from my mums first. Mum had 1 MW to 4 labouring women, who were then rushed down the corridor for 1-2-1 care as they were about to crown. She also had Pethidine, which she reacted v.badly, ended up in resus, and was in labour for about 48 hours.

I was examined, was 7cm, had one midwife from then on and got through it in 3 hours 40 mins on gas & air.

Couldn't have been more different, thankfully!
