I have this on in the background and is weekend round up of woemns hour on radio four. Interesting bit about private midwives dying out soon due to insurance etc. didn't really listen to that much but at the end the interviewer said:

'what will the future hold'

and the woman said

'well in the states there is a movement of women called "free-birthers" who choose to give birth alone to avoid medical intervention.'

If private midwives cease to exist this will increase in the UK - WTF!!!

well there you go there - don't judge someone who has a phobia if you yourself haven't got one.

I have a phobia of wasps, and, as much as I love my DS's if a wasp comes into the house I'm out of the room quicker than you can blink. I've tried combatting my phobia but it's just not working I can't stay in the same room as a wasp even if my precious DS's are in there.

I can just about manage to open the door and fraction and do a quick squirt of wasp and fly killer before slamming it shut again .

My DS's find it all highly amusing

fannyannie, i have exactly the same wasp phobia, i can`t even think about them without feeling all prickly and scared!
maybe we should start a thread? I have bought those wasp jar things for my garden for the summer to stop me running around screaming like a madwoman whenever I even imagine one near me!
