I have been a big fan of mumsnet for a while and watched quite a few threads and seen some great advice, i am now looking for advice myself. I am due tommorow (had a non-blood stained show 3 weeks ago) and like most at this stage fed up, i went for last hospital app yesterday and was already given an induce date of 23/3, but to be honest don't want to make it, so last night (this is where you PLEASE don't tell me off) i had dh go and buy me castor oil, i took it last night at 8.15pm, and at 3 am this morn woke up with belly cramp and diahrea which lasted till 6am but all the while i was having BH (i think they were BH), between then and now i have been getting stronger than normal BH but not that close together (20mins or so), and at 10am this morn had another show but this one was pink not clear like three weeks ago, if anyone been through this or got any advice i would love to hear it, thanks in advance.

i know nobody wants to hear this when they are due but in my cases (3) nothing worked!!...and i tried EVERYTHING!!!!!!!... i know its harder said than done but relaxing helps. when the midwife went to induce me on two occasions, i was already in labour without realising! i think its because i knew it was going to happen and so i chilled out a bit!!

Good Luck

izzykate · 16/03/2007 13:50

It's not that i really don't want to be induced i was just hoping it would happen naturally, i have now tried everything except pineapple and nothing has worked so far, we have just done the BD and we are now going out for dinner and to asda for a walk round to do sum shopping, i will be one of those like DANIELLE3 where nothing will help, but i am not to hung up on it anymore (well maybe a little - lol) but if it's only one more week that should be gud enough.

relax ,maybe have some fun with DH, have a lovely bath, viualise your cervix opening and your baby coming down, ready to meet you...breathe , relax and just be....

BTW you need to eat 7 fresh pineapples to get the enzyme effect to soften the cervix !!

sex & nipple stim really do help !

Danielle3 · 16/03/2007 13:55

7!!!!!.....my mouth was bleeding after one!!

BigCookLittleCook · 16/03/2007 13:58

curry curry curry. Sure this is what worked for me.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 16/03/2007 14:05

i found if you just put it to the back of your mind and forget about it, you go into labour! lol
just enjoy the last few days you have.
i tried the pineapple thing- i dont know if it worked or not. but it was blardy lovely!
also tried sex but didnt find it particularly arousing as big as i was! lol hence i only tried it once. think you need to do it a few times.
walking tho, deffo for me. brought both of them on a treat. once i had a few particularly sharp pains,i went on a trek round our local woods with the dogs and dh, they got thicker and faster.
with ds2, once they started i kept moving about the house and bouncing on the gym ball.

good luck! x

Best of luck with it...My 1st contraction was at 7:30 Tuesday and DS arrived at 7:20 on Friday.

Walk and belly dance. Your LO will arrive when ready.

Baths and visualisation do help. As does massage and Trivial Pursuit.

All the best.

grouchyoscar · 16/03/2007 16:18

DH was worried about sex after 7:30 0n the Tuesday (grrrh) he was scared he's hurt the baby (!)

foxybrown · 16/03/2007 16:26

couldn't face a curry, had a hot 'Nandos', baby came that night. Was 41+3 and ready to murder someone! Done a sweep days earlier.

I also would go for bouncing on a swiss ball.

You've got plenty of time before they even think about an induction. Just chill out and enjoy the last few days of pregnancy and life as you know it.

Good luck xx

izzykate · 16/03/2007 16:27

Grouchy my DH was worried about sex hurting bubs but i told him it was gud to help get DS out of me and showed him some posts on mumsnet, now he not so bothered because he wants to see DS jus as much as i don't want to be pg anymore. BTW congrats on birth.

good luck, hope to hear from you soon!!!

lulumama · 17/03/2007 08:47

hope to be reading your birth announcement very soon xxx

LowFatMilkshake · 17/03/2007 08:57

Wont tell you off - but would say not to take anymmore. I was desperate like you and mentioned castor oil to MW - she said a big no as it would also loosen babys bowels and increase chances of meconium.

However I have also heard loads of good stories about castor oil where it worked, so fingers crossed!

Let us know when baby arrives!

wheresthevalium · 17/03/2007 08:58

Best of luck izzykate

izzykate · 17/03/2007 17:43

NEED HELP, yes am at home mw said there was NO EVIDENCE of pooling when checked for waters gone said it was more like a show, so i explained that i had lost my plug about a week ago which was pink tinged but this morn was very different it was almost water (like the syrup you get out of canned fruit) but it is bloody, she said it was more than likely to be SHOW and that is different to a mucus plug, but the confusing thing is i felt and herd what i can only discribe as an explosion in my nether area and it scared the living crap out of me, i am still loosing what looks like bloody water (not lots) but it is still thicker than water and now my BH feel very different like a pressure feeling not just tightning, can anyone please help a confused and dissappointed lady. xxxx

Try not to feel too disappointed. Baby will come soon. Put your feet up and try to chill out, not long to wait.

deaconblue · 17/03/2007 17:48

Waters do feel like water. My mucus plug came in dribs and drabs for about a week, and loads of gross stuff came out in the first few hours of my labour so maybe you are beginning to start. It's bound to start late tonight REST REST RESt
