Me and hubby are about to get down and dirty for #2.

I had a Emergency C-Section, and to be honest it isn't an experience I would like to repeat.

Hope some of you can give me advice!?

It's going to be a big decision either way... I completely agree with advice to try to get a Doula if you go for a VBAC.

Personally I didn't like giving birth in any of the ways I tried (and I tried them all!) indeed words such as "rewarding" and "beautiful" just don't come into my vocabulary when describingit, - rather a necessary evil and I just wanted the third in the most pain-free way I could and for me that was an elective

Guess I'm a woss!

Hi
I have a vbac just 3 weeks ago, it was a hell of a lot nicer than an emergency c-section which i had with my first. I was due to have a repeat c-section on the 24th january but went into labour on the 23rd naturally.I had to have forceps help and after my doc said i have a small pelvis and thats why i had problems with my first dd because she was big. My 2nd was smaller so just about fit through.

I had a good elective CS first time around (my choice). Really wanted a vaginal birth with my second 4 years later. Had a brilliantly supportive midwife and a doula (both who believed I could do it..but doctors, and I suspect, DH - hence the doula - thought I couldn't).

Had to be induced (15 days late); labour was fast at 1.5 hrs and I actually enjoyed it! - To be honest, and to my complete and utter surprise, I didn't think it was that painful - being mobile and concentrating on breathing helped enormously. Afterwards I felt very strong and proud. Would love to do it again. I was 42 when I had my VBAC so i don't agree that having a vaginal delivery is not advisable as you get older. I was fit (fitter than with my first) and much better prepared (antenatal yoga, etc). Go for it!
