Back to back babies

Hi

I'm 34 weeks with my 2nd and I have an anterior placenta so I always knew there was a possibility of the little cherub being back to back but it's just been confirmed by the midwife he's literally 180 degrees the wrong way round if you see what I mean - head down and engaged but just needs to pivot.

I've been on the spinning babies website etc and I'm trying to turn him naturally before the big day BUT I'm looking for anyone with advice or experience who had a back to back labour where the baby didn't turn - did you get them out alright (albeit sunny side up)?

I'm set to have a home birth so just need to keep my confidence/realism in a good balance but I'm debating getting myself to hospital instead.

Thoughts please :)

Does your hospital have a birth centre. They are often big rooms with sofas birthing balls, pools, dimmed lights and you can play your own music so you'll have a homely environment with limited interference but help on hand if needed. I had back to back baby and started of in the birthing centre. My labour was very slow at progressing but my contractions we strong and very regular after 8 hours I had an epidural and needed the hormone drip to speed things up. When I was fully dilated I pushed for two hours but dd would not come out. Dd heart rate started to drop so I was rushed to theatre for epistomy and forceps delivery. Also had a third degree tear on top of the epistomy. Hope this doesnt scare you but I had wanted everything natural and had been doing yoga and hypnobirthing. Not all back to back births are like this a lot come out no problem at all but just in case I would say it's best to go to a hospital so the help is there if you need it. Good luck.
