Sibling antenatal classes - anyone know if they exist??

My mate wants her dd (5) to go to some sort of antenatal class - she's not planning a home birth, but just wants her to know a bit about the baby/have somewhere to talk about the possible emotions. I've vaguely heard of such things ... anyone know of anything??

Never heard of them... but it's an interesting idea.... of course one wonders why she doesn't tell her herself and be available for the talk about emotions.

Haven't heard of anything like this but hopefully someone can help

Marslady - kind of agree with you - think I'd just do this myself, but I can see that there could be value in someone 'external' being involved.

Hmmmmmmmmm..............

Just tell her it will give her kudos in the school playground.

You should've heard DD2 when I was pregnant with the DTs.

Friend of DD2(FDD): My mummy's got a baby in her tummy
DD2: So has my mummy
FDD: My mummy has a baby in her tummy in true life
DD2: Your mummy's only got one baby in her tummy. My mummy's got two [preen preen preen]

See..... kudos in the playground lol!

Took DD (then 2.9) to all my midwives appointments, with her Doctors kit, and they were great at involving her. We also talked A LOT about babies, what they do/don't do, etc. and what life might be like when the baby arrived ie Mummy being busier and even more knackered, taking turns, having to wait etc

feetheart - we did this with ds too (he was 2) - the midwives were fablulous - really got him involved - he adored them!
