just wondered if everyone gets them so badly????? Never had any with DS, mild with DD1 but this time with DD2 they are horrendous. I am in agony and they are worse than early labour contractions. Taken co codamol to take edge off but not helping so much!

Yes much worse after pains with #3 and they gave me something for it, but it was only on the first night after he was born.

I dont know whether to be scared or reassured now!!

I had awful after pains with no 2, I remember after having him and delivering placenta saying desperately 'it still hurts!' couldnt believe it after all that id got the baby out but the pain didnt stop. She just gave me paracetamol, I wanted the gas and air back!! And bf was agony with nipples bleeding too. And now im expecting no 3 in april and just been saying on antenatal thread how im actually looking forward to labour, which i am, but now dreading the bit after!

Think i shall just focus on miaou's post. I will experience the same as her

Sorry what a totally self centred post!

Sorry to hear you're in so much pain nemo, hope it eases soon. I seem to remember that it does only last a few days. Can you take ibuprofen as well as co codamol? Im fairly certain you can double up on different drugs iykwim.

And congrats on your baby girl

Don't ALWAYS get worse everytime - I was in agony after ds1 - would sit feeding him yelling 'ow, ow, ow' and have to drop him right after feed to run round squealing....
Laid in MASSIVE drug-store for dd2 ... nada - not one single afterpain.
