I've already posted my c section pains woes but have got no further with answers from health visitor, gp and hospital. I'm 3.5 weeks post c section and have superficial pain on my skin above the incision and on my abdomen. It feels like burning pain when clothes touch my skin. Painkillers aren't helping. Has anyone had this? If so what was the cause and how long did it take to go? Only positive stories please- I'm feeling miserable as it is! Cheers

Yes, I had this. On top of really weird sensations down my legs, like someone was pouring warm water on them

I'm not sure how long it lasted but maybe a couple of months? It's nerve related. I still get little shocks months on

Why don't all c section mums experience it? Well every section is different and every body is different. Our nerves are broadly in similar places but if you've ever opened up a body you'd see that there's considerable minor variation

Hello was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to relieve this horrible burning pain I’m having. My son was born 4/5/2019 this is my 2nd c section with this one being the worst. But like you I’m experiencing the exact same thing. I have a burning pain like if I was cut with a samurai sword and then dowsed with alcohol then set on fire.... it’s mainly on the right side above incision. It hurts 75% of the day touching it or not. I often look at it to see if it’s turning red or something. Idk what to do at this point. Please help hopefully you’ve gotten some advice you can pass on. Thx

Good day. Did you ever get two relief from the pain? If so, how long did it take for the pain/sensation to go away?

Hi- I had this for around 4 months post partum. It gradually got better until the burning stopped. I still have an unpleasant sensation on that skin area now- but it’s only when I touch it or put pressure on rather than all the time. I was told it can take 9-10months for nerve damage to heal though - and when you get to 18 months that’s probably as good as it will ever get!

that’s exactly what i was trying to find out! my skin stings and burns above my incision a little ways and i can’t figure out how to make it stop!

My husband had this after abdominal surgery. He said it felt like being nettled.
It did go away after a few weeks.
We cut up a very old very soft pillowcase and he taped it to his body as a barrier between his normal clothes as it felt more comfortable. Hexalso massaged the scar tissue daily with aqueous cream. The pain is something to do with severed nerve ending.
Hope it goes away soon.
