Elective CS Maternal Request - where in NHS?

Hello,
Looking for members who have had a maternal request Caesarean section within the NHS in the past year (2015). If you are able to tell me which hospital you went to and who your Dr was I would be most grateful.
Just looking for data, not to start a discussion on reasons & opinions re maternal requests.
Thanks

This is rally interesting. I'll only consider a second child if I can be guaranteed a section, it would be maternal request. From reading this thread it appears that won't happen. Looks like DS will be an only child

Junosmum, my experience of getting an ELCS for mental health reasons (which are wrongly often referred to as maternal request) is very much in contrast to this thread.

I have read these threads for many years, and this is only the third one that has been as negative in all that time.

For my ELCS I was able to obtain an assurance in principle to have an ELCS BEFORE getting pregnant. I would encourage you to try and go down this route before ruling out the possibility of a second child, if that is what you really want.

It is possible to do this, although it is difficult, but its not really well known about. However since you already have a child, the care pathways are better and more recognised than they were for me as someone who had no previous children.

I would stress again that this thread is pretty unrepresentative of the outcomes of women seeking an ELCS fortunately, though it breaks my heart to read just one such case.

OP, please do update if you get the chance, as I follow the subject with some interest and if your case marks a step backwards for women, I'd like to know how it turns out, as I try and help others in similar situations on MN on a regular basis.
