39 weeks - nervous

Hello :)

My first baby is due on Friday... I'm fed up and can't wait to meet him but I'm also terrified. I've read books about positive thinking and all that but I'm just so nervous about labour and birth.

I had a type of OCD when I was a teenager which gave me an irrational fear of hospitals and medical things which I think is not helping now I'm stressed and hormonal.

How can I calm down and convince myself that I can do it?

Hello ladies any signs yet of any babies?
I'm 3 days over now.. Getting impatient Hmm

Ladypug · 27/10/2015 10:32

Hi Sally, nope nothing here, not even a twinge :-( resigning myself to induction I think!

sally92 · 27/10/2015 10:51

Don't we have to be least 41-42 weeks to be induced or we can actually ask for it. ?

Ladypug · 27/10/2015 10:58

I am 41 weeks and will be 42 next week, I'm further ahead :-( I don't want it but have to really listening to the risks. I'm hoping baby comes before then!

I also read your more likely to be in more pain with being induced than labour starting naturally... Arghh I'm due to see my midwife tomorrow so see what she says..

Aww ladypug:
here's me moaning about being 3 days over when your more than a week over...

Ladypug · 27/10/2015 11:06

That's ok, I've been on here when I was a day or two over and other people have been further over. In a way, it's easier now than it was earlier on because now at least I know there is a definite end in sight but I'm desperately hoping for a natural birth. Why this baby doesn't want to come out I have no idea!

Baby's must know it's getting cold out here now so there staying put. Haha
