Hi all
On my third baby here and edd is quickly approaching
Lots of midwives have said to me thurs babies can be tricky - labour can take a while starting and be a bit stop startish
I was wondering if anyone else who has actually had their third child found this? I was 40+10 on my first and had waters broken to start things
Second came along at 39/40
This little one - well I ve had lord on BH and evenings where I thought things might start only to have it stop :(

Didn't realise that the last part didn't post. Basically I m interested in hearing people s experiences of their third delivery - was there lots of false starts, did it happen quickl ly ?

My 3rd was by far my easiest labour and birth. From waking to him being born was 4 hours. I couldn't decide at first if I was in labour or just needed a big poo. Blush I finally decided I'd best get to hospital when contractions were 2 minutes apart. I was 7 cm dilated.
When it came time to push, it took two minutes. Literally. Two minutes and he was out. No stitches needed. And nope he wasn't tiny. He was 10lb 10. Shock

Wow that s lovely and reassuring :)
I know it s so unpredictable, all the worries are hitting me now. Will I be able, what if something happens to the baby, will I get to the hospital in time ....

I had a lot of false starts with my third. I'm not sure exactly what as the only time I was hooked up to a monitor they stopped calling them Brixton hicks and started calling them contractions. When things properly kicked off it was very quick though. My first was 9 days late,2nd a week early, third was a week late.

Watching as 38 weeks with dc3 and getting loads of Braxton hicks and don't think I got any with previous 2. Then started getting slightly periody backache yesterday.

My first two were pretty quick (4 hours and one hour start to finish) but my midwife kept saying the third wouldn't be like that and would probably be a long one. Wow was she wrong! Went into hospital after a few contractions only to be sent home as they thought it was a false alarm. We got home, my waters broke, her head came out in the car and dd was born outside the hospital lift. Thank goodness I was wearing trousers, the midwife caught her! Labour is recorded as 19 minutes. The placenta however took 2 1/2 hours to come out and wasn't far the most painful thing I've ever experienced.
I hope your labour goes well and make sure you are prepared for anything!

Oops forgot to say DS1 was 6 days late, DS2 12 days early and dd was 3 days late, had BH all the time with all three from 20 weeks.

I just did not go into labour natuarally at all. My waters trickled, and I got to 3 cm without feeling a thing. I was induced using the drip, I had an epidural from the start, and felt no pain at all!!!! The whole thing was 1 hour and 51 minutes from start to finish, I had been so nervous and in tears waiting to be induced as I was so scared of what was to come. Number three was a surprise baby, and I had relaxed into never having to give birth again, and somehow, this made me more fearful.

I need not have worried. I hope it all goes well for you.

Mine all came early. Dd1 was seven days early. Ds1 was three days early and dd2 baby number 3 was 2 days early however she was by far the fastest. Waters broke, straight into mental contractions. Delivered on all fours on the bed with a midwife next door and a husband crapping himself. No tears and no stitches. Just under 40 minutes in total. (Ds1 was only 1 hr and 35 mins though) I reckon if i was to have a fourth I could just do it myself at home lol

My first labour was 6 hours and I was 40+10, my 2nd was an hour and I was 40+5 and my third was 2 hours at 38+6. My midwife said the same to me about third babies and it certainly was true for me. My third was breech and I was actually prepped for c/s but she was in such a rush that vaginal birth was the preferred option in the end, much to my delight!
Good luck!
